Aichi, Japan, July 21, 2004 – Toyoda Gosei Co., Ltd. (President: Takashi Matsuura) hereby announces that Toyoda Gosei has completed the procedures with respective countries’ Patent Offices in respect of the transfer of the right to become one of the Co-Patentees through a partial transfer of the share in the patent right (WO02/054502)(PCT/AT01/00364)concerning the white LED jointly owned by Tridonic Optoelectronics GmbH(Austria), Leuchtstoffwerk Breitungen GmbH(Germany)and Litec GbR(Germany)as well as other related patent applications.
The subject patent can be generally outlined as a basis wherein blue LED and New yellow phosphor constitute white light. As stated in the press release of November 13, 2001, Toyoda Gosei has been a licensee of the subject patent. From now on, however, Toyoda Gosei becomes a Co-Patentee of the patent.
