[Representative Products]
The Interior & Exterior Parts Business Unit develops interior
and exterior parts for automobiles. Interior parts include cockpit
modules such as instrument panels and center clusters, storing products
such as consoles and glove boxes, apparatus such as registers and
cup holders, and door trims. Exterior products include radiator grilles,
wheel caps, and side moldings.
[Technological Themes]
When developing interior and exterior parts, a variety of requirements
must be met. These include design-related harmony with surrounding
parts, texture, tactile feel, as well as operating ease and improved
durability. TG has been working on many technological themes by being
involved in a broad range of processes from planning to designing,
evaluation, and preparation for production and to manufacturing. We
briefly explain what we mean by “modularity,” “addressing
environmental issues,” and “adding new functions” here.
Modularity is emphasized in the area of interior parts. The expertise
we have accumulated over the years is fully utilized to improve interior
harmony and quality, and to significantly cut cost. |
