The Body Sealing Business Unit develops and manufactures weatherstrips,
which secures comfort inside a car by keeping out rain, outside air,
dust, and noise. Weatherstrips are roughly divided into three categories
according to places they are attached to - a door weatherstrip assembled
to a door, a glass run assembled to a part where glass goes up and
down, and an opening trim weatherstrip assembled to a body. The business
unit also deals in sealing products for trunks and sunroofs.

Weatherstrips are inconspicuous sealing products, but many advanced
technologies are integrated in them. TG has adopted production technologies
such as extrusion molding and die forming, material technologies such
as material blending and recycling, and design and evaluation technologies
including sound analysis and design support so as to achieve top quality
in the industry.
Technological key phrases we now emphasize include the following:
advanced function, sophisticated design, lighter weight, and recycling.
In the area of advanced function, improving sealing tightness and
sound insulation and analyzing the sound of a door closing are important
subjects. A sophisticated design is also required because weatherstrips
are assembled around the door. We are actively working on the theme
of lighter weight by studying a material blending technology and simplifying
product specifications. As the fourth theme, we are enhancing environmentally
conscious production and material development to promote recycling.
