TG is a high polymer parts manufacturer but has plenty
of expertise in metal processing
Plastic
resin is often used for cellular phone housings. But traditional resin
cannot be made any thinner than 0.9mm to secure its strength.
TG has been focusing on magnesium; its advantage includes easy mold
injection, and it can be used to construct light and strong housings.
The material shift to magnesium realized the minimum of 0.6mm wall
thickness while maintaining its strength. Another reason for the shift
is the fact that magnesium is an environmentally less harmful material.
Its waste is easy to collect, and it requires less energy for recycling.
The shift has made a cellular phone that is thinner and smaller as
a whole.
TGs know-how related to metal processing was fully capitalized
on in developing magnesium housings. As metal materials including
magnesium are used for the core of a steering wheel, TG, high polymer
part manufacturer, has a lot of knowledge about metal molding, and
its application has brought forth the new product. |

Playful titanium decoration opens a new market
We
are working on new ways of using titanium as well as magnesium. Titanium
is light, strong, rust-free, and easy to process as it is easy to
heat and cool. Since it does not bring allergy to people and has antibacterial
and deodorant properties under light, it is a perfect material for
a cellular phone used near peoples ear and mouth.
Titanium is good not only for phone housings but also for decoration.
We can create playful impressions by covering the titanium surface
with oxide film to make three-dimensional patterns (patent pending)
and hologram images. This technology is not confined to mobile devices,
and will expand our market to amusement equipment in the future. |
