Toyoda Gosei Earns Leadership Level in the “Climate Change” and “Water Security” Sectors of CDP’s Company Survey
Kiyosu, Japan, February 15, 2024: Toyoda Gosei Co., Ltd. has earned a Leadership level1 (A-) in a survey of companies conducted by the CDP,2 an international not-for-profit environmental organization. The leadership level is in the two sectors of “Climate Change” and “Water Security.”
Toyoda Gosei has set new, higher medium- and long-term CO2 reduction targets and established an action plan for the reduction of environmental impacts. The company is steadily decreasing CO2 emissions, water usage, and waste, and actively discloses information based on the guidelines of the Task Force on Climate-Related Financial Disclosures (TCFD).3 All of this contributed to its Leadership level.
Leaving a rich earth for the future is one of Toyoda Gosei’s corporate missions, and the company is leveraging its knowledge in the rubber and plastics expertise to help bring about a decarbonized society. In August 2023 the company brought forward by two decades, from 2050 to 2030, the timing for the achievement of carbon neutrality in its production activities (Scope 1, 2). It is also accelerating efforts to reduce non-Scope 1 and 2, indirect CO2 emissions (Scope 3), by setting new targets, acquiring Science Based Targets (SBT)4 certification, and other efforts. It will continue to promote environmentally-friendly business activities in moving toward a sustainable society.
