Toyoda Gosei Invests in Counterworks, a Start-up Supporting Digital Transformation of Retail and Commercial Facilities
Kiyosu, Japan, January 19, 2021: Toyoda Gosei Co., Ltd. has invested* in Counterworks, Inc. (Tokyo, Japan), which is involved in areas such as support for digital transformation (DX) of retail and commercial facilities. Services provided by Counterworks include visualization of consumer behavior in retail establishments and tenant recruitment utilizing Retail as a Service (RaaS).
Toyoda Gosei provides a wide range of rubber and plastic automotive parts includes airbags for automakers. As the automotive industry undergoes dramatic changes, it is seeking to provide not only products that contribute to safe and comfortable automotive interior spaces but also new added value to meet the growing demands of Mobility as a Service and other services that includes B to C businesses.
The company made this investment with the intention of collaborating with Counterworks to accelerate the creation of services that transcend its current business frameworks.
Toyoda Gosei will continue to venture into innovation and new mobility through collaboration with startups and others where there is promise of synergy with its core technologies.
