Toyoda Gosei provides value to society for mobility in four business areas



Safety Systems

With various types of airbags, we have achieved 360° full coverage to protect vehicle occupants from impacts at various angles. We also provide airbags and other products that protect pedestrians.
Interior and Exteriors

We offer a wide range of interior products for a comfortable vehicle interior, including instrument panels and console boxes, and exterior products such as radiator grilles that have a large impact on vehicle design.
Functional Components

These are important fuel- and brake-related components that support the basic vehicle functions of function of drive, turn and stop.
Weatherstrips

These products are attached to doors and window frames to protect the cabin from wind, rain and noise. They also serve many other roles, such as assisting in the smooth opening and closing of doors and windows.

Materials, manufacturing methods, and mold technology that give our products an edge
Toyoda Gosei began with the Rubber Research Department established by Toyoda Kiichiro, the founder of Toyota Motor. Building on the foundation of basic rubber research, we expanded to materials, manufacturing methods, and mold technology.

Origins

The start of Toyoda Gosei(late 1930s)
Toyoda Kiichiro felt the need for rubber products in the automobile department of Toyoda Automatic Loom Works, and established a Rubber Research Department. This gave rise to Nagoya Rubber, our predecessor.


Plastic steering wheels(1950s)
At the suggestion of Toyota Motor Company, our main customer, we began making steering wheels of plastic. Previously, they had been made of hard rubber.

Origins

Development of airbags(1980s)
Toyota Motor Corporations first airbags were a new commercial area. We took on the challenge of competing in the development of airbags based on the awareness that airbags were products that were needed as soon as possible.


World-leading achievements(1990s)
Starting with the certification of our success with blue LEDs, we have developed various products and technologies that were the first in the world, based on the TG Spirit of “Challenge.”

Origins

TG (U.S.A.) (currently, TG Missouri Corporation)(1986s)
TG (U.S.A.) (currently, TG Missouri Corporation) was established in the state of Missouri, USA, in 1986 as Toyoda Gosei’s first overseas company.
