Toyoda Gosei Switches to Renewable Energy at Miwa Technical Center

Kiyosu, Japan, May 18, 2022: Toyoda Gosei Co., Ltd. has switched to green energy generated from renewable energy sources (solar, wind, biomass, other) for the power used at its Miwa Technical Center (Ama, Aichi, Japan). This will reduce the CO2 emissions for FY2022 by about 4,200 tons compared with the previous year.

Toyoda Gosei has set a mid-range target of reducing CO2 emissions by 50% (compared with FY2013 levels) by 2030, on its way to achieving carbon neutrality by 2050.

In addition to energy savings (reduction in total amount of electricity used) resulting from production technology innovations and the introduction of high-efficiency machinery and equipment, the company is increasing its usage of renewable energy, including the installation of solar and wind generation facilities and the purchase of green energy.

This switch to green energy follows similar moves at the Toyoda Gosei World Headquarters, Inabe Plant (which makes high-pressure hydrogen tanks for FCEVs), and Miyoshi Distribution Center. Toyoda Gosei will continue to systematically expand its use of renewable energy in the coming years.
