Toyoda Gosei Increases Ownership Stake, Changes Name of South Indian Production Subsidiary
Kiyosu, Japan, September 16, 2015: To strengthen its position in the growing Indian automotive market, Toyoda Gosei Co., Ltd. has acquired the equity shares of Kirloskar Systems Ltd. (KSL; Bangalore, Karnataka, India) in TG Kirloskar Automotive Pvt. Ltd., a Toyoda Gosei production subsidiary that had been jointly owned with KSL and Toyota Tsusho (Nagoya, Japan). The name of the company was then changed to Toyoda Gosei South India Pvt. Ltd. (TGSIN).
TGSIN produces automotive steering wheels, airbags and other safety systems, as well as interior and exteriors such as instrument panel components. The Indian market is expected to continue growing in the future, and Toyoda Gosei aims to actively expand its presence there.
