Toyoda Gosei Celebrates Opening of Brazilian Subsidiary
Kiyosu, Japan, April 14, 2016: Toyoda Gosei held an opening ceremony for Brazilian subsidiary GDBR Industria e Comercio de Componentes Quimicos e de Borracha Ltda. (GDBR) on Wednesday, April 13 at the company’s premises in Itapetininga, Sao Paulo.
Speaking to local political leaders, guests and other attendees at the ceremony, Toyoda Gosei Chairman Tadashi Arashima expressed his ambition for the company: “The start of automotive production here in Brazil is a commemorative milestone for Toyoda Gosei, as it is our first production facility in Brazil. We look forward to growing in Brazil, especially Itapetininga, with increasing localization to serve the needs of the Brazilian automotive market with its long-term growth potential.”
In addition to GDBR, Toyoda Gosei invested capital in Pecval Industria Ltda. (Pecval; Indaiatuba, Sao Paulo, Brazil), a producer of plastic automotive parts, in November 2015. These two business units will work together in supplying products to carmakers in South America.
