Increasing the use of renewable energy to achieve carbon neutrality
Toyoda Gosei Installs Solar Power Station at American Production Site
Kiyosu, Japan, April 10, 2025: TG Missouri Corporation (TGMO), an American Group company of Toyoda Gosei Co., Ltd., will install a new solar power station on the company grounds to increase its use of renewable energy and advance its conversion to renewable energy for the electricity it uses.
TGMO will use idle land on plant grounds and install solar panels (output 17.5 megawatts) and storage batteries (30 megawatt-hours) supplied by green energy partners it has selected, with a scheduled start of operations in April 2027. This will allow the company to switch to renewable energy for about 30% of the annual electricity used for the entire plant. This is forecast to reduce annual CO2 emissions by 14,000 tons and will make up 40% of the renewable energy used in the Americas region of the Toyoda Gosei Group.
Toyoda Gosei declared in 2023 that it would bring forward to 2030 the timing for achieving carbon neutrality in the CO2 emissions produced in the company’s own production activities (Scope 1 and 2), accelerating energy savings from production technology innovations and its conversion to renewable energy for electricity. As it converts to renewable energy, the company is increasing its use of green energy in addition to its own solar power generation. The entire Toyoda Gosei Group together is committed to the aim of achieving carbon neutrality by 2030 through the best combination of means to procure various forms of renewable energy.
