Kiyosu, Japan, October 21, 2025: Toyoda Gosei Co., Ltd.’s curtain airbags, one of the company’s safety systems, were selected for use on the new Prelude sports coupe released by Honda in September 2025.

Curtain airbags reduce impacts to the head by instantaneously deploying to cover the window glass during side collisions. In rollover regulations, which are particularly strict safety regulations globally, curtain airbags also need to serve a role in preventing occupants from being thrown from the vehicle during a rollover. These newly launched airbags can be installed in the limited interior space of coupes, while also providing protection during vehicle rollovers with the ability to retain their inflated shape. These features support both the stylishness of a smooth body line and the safety of sports coupes.

Toyoda Gosei will continue to provide airbags that meet the diversification of vehicle design, and contribute to improved safety and interior comfort.
