Kiyosu, Japan, October 8, 2026: Toyoda Gosei Co., Ltd. applied for the Japanese Ministry of Economy, Trade and Industry (METI)’s “FY2025 Supplementary Global South Future-Oriented Co-Creation Project Subsidy (Large-Scale Demonstration Projects for Non-ASEAN Countries),” and the company’s “India/High-Quality Bumper Painting and Just-In-Sequence Delivery (Toyota Production System) Demonstration Project” has been selected for funding.

With this program, METI aims to support large demonstration projects conducted by Japanese businesses in countries of the global south, which will strengthen economic collaboration between these countries and Japan through stimulation of their markets.

Toyoda Gosei will use this support to introduce a painting process with higher efficiency1 and reduced CO2 emissions through improved painting robots, and just-in-sequence delivery2 that optimizes stock and distribution through digital control. The demonstration will be carried out at a new plant in Maharashtra, west-central India.

This demonstration requires a large-scale upfront investment to build the new painting process and DX-based just-in-sequence delivery system. In addition, by evolving the production technologies and systems cultivated in Japan, Toyoda Gosei aims to improve production efficiency, reduce CO2, and save labor in a different environment. As a result, the company will contribute to solving challenges in the Indian manufacturing industry, such as rising quality requirements, increasing labor costs, logistical efficiency, and environmental conservation. Through METI's support, the company aims to move quickly to solve these challenges and achieve early commercialization.3

Through this demonstration, Toyoda Gosei also aims to maintain and expand employment in related operations in Japan, such as equipment design and DX system development. By expanding this newly established production model to other regions, the company will enhance its competitiveness and promote eco-friendly manufacturing across the Japanese automotive parts industry.

Toyoda Gosei will continue contributing to the realization of a safer and more comfortable mobility society through sustainable manufacturing.
