Toyoda Gosei to Enhance the Production Capacity of Airbags in Indonesia

Toyoda Gosei Co., Ltd.

P.T. Toyoda Gosei Safety Systems Indonesia (TGSSI), a subsidiary of Toyoda Gosei Co., Ltd. (Head Office: Kiyosu, Aichi Prefecture, President: Tadashi Arashima) producing safety system products in Indonesia, has decided to invest approximately 80 billion Indonesian rupiah (approx. 800 million yen1) in expanding its plant and installing new production equipment. By 2016, TGSSI plans to increase its annual production of airbags to approximately 1.5 million units and that of steering wheels to 800 thousand units, about 5 times and 1.5 times the current level respectively. Besides, TGSSI is hiring about 130 people to increase the number of its employees to approximately 220 by 2016. This is to respond to the increasing demand for airbags as the ASEAN NCAP2, targeted at ASEAN countries, has been introduced in Indonesia.

In addition, TGSSI held a commemorative ceremony on July 2 to celebrate the 10th anniversary of its foundation.

Aiming to become the customers' global supplier of choice, Toyoda Gosei Group will continue to meet the demands of the further growing Indonesian market.
