Collaboration with External Organizations
Participation in the Japan Auto Parts Industries Association and Collaboration with Member Companies
Toyoda Gosei serves as the leader of the Japan Auto Parts Industries Association’s Global Warming Prevention Subcommittee. Atmospheric warming is a global issue, and measures to counter it require efforts in collaboration with the entire automotive industry. For that purpose a medium- to long-term roadmap was prepared and is being spread together with key members. To show the thinking behind these efforts, Toyoda Gosei takes the lead in activities such as collecting good examples from affiliated companies, preparing compilations, and planning seminars. Even in cases when there is a difference in direction among affiliated companies, we strive to respond accurately, communicate, and make efforts so that the activities will continue. Moreover, in cases when the policies of affiliated organizations differ from the policies of Toyoda Gosei or on the need for carbon neutrality, we aim to speak assertively in meetings and form a consensus.
Participation in external organizations and initiatives
When the city of Inazawa in Aichi Prefecture established the “Zero Carbon City Inazawa” initiative, we took part in creating the zero carbon city concept and roadmap. We are still active as a promotion partner. At the request of Inazawa City, we give talks on corporate efforts for decarbonization and offer cooperation and support for “Cool Choice”*1 practices, a decarbonization project in the city. We will continue collaborating with government offices and further intensify our efforts.
- *1 “Cool Choice” is an initiative to promote smart choices in all aspects of daily life to reduce emissions of CO2 and other greenhouse gases, including replacing products, using services, and making lifestyle choices that contribute to a decarbonized society.
